Thursday night before bedtime, I was playing with some of the kids outside under the trees in Cieneguilla, when Josias (7 years) climed up the little step ladder and started picking leaves. "Elin! I'm picking stars for you!" Then we tossed stars into the air and danced around in circles like crazy people. He's such a gentleman -- the next day he gave me flowers :)

And today, we went surfing. Not the kids, but us volunteers who had our day off. And when I mean surfing, I mean that I had no arm strength to push me up on to the board after all that paddling to get out to those sweet waves (note the legitimate use of "sweet", which is totally surfing lingo btw), so I just soared over the waves on my stomach screaming "EEEAAAGLE" all the way to shore. Then instead of a taxi, we walked one and a half hours home. Then, there was a definite Burger King delivery that went down -- my first time ever calling a delivery service, oohh yeah.

Here is a picture of Josias and Angelo blowing bubbles, and Angel shooting them down with his home-made rubber band rifle. Such a cool kid.

"You should learn German instead of Spanish, it would be the logical thing to do."
Said to me my by Andrea one or two nights ago as I was hanging out with all the german/swiss volunteers here. Mmmmmmm haha I'm gonna go with "no." What I did do was give a hair cut (I gave a hair cut!). And get a slight trim myself.

I don't have cotton in my ear. In fact, I don't have anything in my ear. Nor do I have a bandage around my ear. Aaah, a tiny taste of freedom.

Also, I started my wall painting today. It is my third commission and I'm slightly terrified but it's going well. So far the sky and half a mountain are done, and Monica approves  and says it's "Wunder-schöen!" which is Swiss-German and has means something positive. I don't speak German.

Thumbs up! I would have done two thumbs up but I needed one hand to press the webcambutton on the computer. This is my ear looking like a regular ear.

Today, we made Chokladbollar. They instill a certain sense of patriotism for Sweden I don't usually feel. Needless to say they were a hit, even though I don't make them as tasty as my wonderful chokladbolls-baking-daddy does.

I had the morning off, so I slept till 9:30.
So. nice.
Children do not like to eat vegetables. Really. Thankfully, they love to eat fake airplanes and motorcykles and fish and hippopotomuses and dolphins
And Rahel is super into fighting and wrestling. With me. Yeaaah I can still wrestle a 10 year old girl to the ground *dusts off shoulder nonchalantly*. Even though she beat me once. I'm blaming my ear infection.
